Jean's Journeys
2007 has already proven to be an amazing year for travel. I began the year with a wonderful trip on the beautiful Sapphire Princess, sailing from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan. This cruise was the final phase in completing the Princess OneSource Academy and earning my designation as Princess Commodore. Princess Cruise Lines has beautiful ships, every itinerary imaginable, and so many options on board that you can do everything or nothing at all! You know cruising is one of my favorite things to do and Princess does cruising right. Our newest travel specialists at Journeys, Jim & Darla Hopkins, joined my husband & I for this adventure. The late winter months and Spring brought several day trips and weekend's away to local casinos and to see the grandkids. Then June arrived and off I went to Hawaii. Every time I visit Hawaii I am amazed and proud to think that somewhere this beautiful and unique is a part of the good ole U.S. of A! We spent 3 wonderful days in Waikiki before boarding the Pride of Aloha and spending 7 nights sailing to Kauai, Maui, and the big Island of Hawaii. This is a wonderful way to see all of Hawaii in a fairly short amount of time. The ship becomes your floating hotel, complete with food and entertainment. You don't have the hassle of packing and unpacking, checking in and checking out. Hawaii is so diverse, each island unique in what they have to offer. Kauai is lush and tropical and the Waimea Canyon is a truly awesome sight. Maui has amazing beaches, great shopping, and my personal favorite luau in Hawaii, the Old Lahaina Luau. The big island is where you'll see Volcano National Park, complete with lava tubes and active steam vents. Although there is no longer an active exterior flow of lava, this is an active volcano and new and exciting things are happening here daily. Also, some of the best snorkeling in the islands is off the Hilo coastline. Of course, no trip to Hawaii is complete without a visit to the Arizona Memorial and the Polynesian Cultural Centre on Oahu. What will the rest of 2007 bring? Well, I have plans for Europe, maybe Vegas, and possibly....???? I guess you'll just have to come back to this page and see the next "Where in the World is Jean?" update. Until then, Call Journeys today to book your next exciting adventure.
